Lewis Kelsey of Island Designs began his carpentry career with wooden boat building at the Landing School in Kennebunkport, Maine. After moving to Nantucket in 1990 and working as a finish trim carpenter for a long-established and reputable construction company, Lewis launched Island Designs, LLC in 2003. Island Designs focuses on building, renovating and caring for fine homes. His hands-on approach, excellent communication skills and ability to bring a client’s vision to reality sets him apart from other companies. No project is too small and every client is given the same attention and care. Lewis and his wife Michele, a broker at Jordan Real Estate, live on the island full time with their two children, Hannah and Garrett, and dog Nellie.
